[Bionews] Last call: Registration for Cytoscape Symposium
(by cytoretreat from cytoscape.org)
Tue Oct 30 13:10:00 EST 2007
A week from now on Tuesday 6th November the 5th Annual Cytoscape Retreat and
Symposium will kick off at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam,
Part of the retreat is already fully booked so if you still want to register
for the Application Showcase and Tutorials day (November 7th) or for the
Public Symposium on Integrative Bioinformatics (November 8th) you'd better
do that now!
The retreat website (http://
has been updated and the final version of the programme (including
directions from Amsterdam city center) can be downloaded as pdf from
resumes and talk abstracts as well as short descriptions of plugins and
applications that will be demonstrated are now available.
Application Showcase and Tutorials day:
Track - This year's retreat coincides with the publication of the Nature
Protocols Paper on Cytoscape (Cline ea. "Integration of biological networks
and gene expression data using Cytoscape", Nat.Prot. 2007). These protocols
will be used as guidelines during the Tutorials Track.
2) Application Showcase Track - Furthermore, recent work (most of it
published) by other groups on specific plugins will be shown during the
Application Showcase Track.
3) Developer Tutorials - For the java-developers working on their own
plugins there are "hackathon" sessions during which you can get your hands
on real code and hear tips and tricks from members of the core development
So we advise you to design your own programme that day, depending on your
needs, alternating between the 3 different tracks.
Of course the Public Symposium on Integrative Bioinformatics remains the
showpiece of this year's retreat with a set of speakers the likes of which
you do not often see during one event! There are limited places still
available for the Public Symposium so please register soon to avoid
We hope to see you at the retreat!
