submit your abstract/s. Please forward this email to your colleagues.
The International Biocuration Conference is a unique event for curators
and developers of biological databases to discuss their work, promote
collaborations, and foster a sense of community. The conference will
include three plenary talks featuring prominent scientists: Fritz Roth,
Mark Yandell, and Rich Roberts.
We look forward to your participation to the conference. Abstracts for
posters and oral presentations must be submitted by December 9th, 2011.
Conference topics include:
- Ontologies, standards and best practices, including gold standard
datasets;
- Protein annotation; sequences, structures and pathways;
- Community annotation and Wikis;
- Genomics and metagenomics data curation;
- High-throughput data (focus on NGS and MS data) curation and presentation;
- Literature collection, text mining and curation;
- Tools to assist curation, including automated pipelines;
- Phenotype annotation.
In addition, between two and six workshops will be run depending on
interest from the attendees:
- Interactions with publishers
- Quality information in support of annotations
- Disease and phenotype annotation
- How to best outreach to users?
- Protein (sequence/structure, pathway) annotation
- Careers in biocuration
The final program will be announced in accordance to the abstracts received.
