Jeroen Jeneson and I have been interpreting his NMR data
on finger muscle. Interpretation work both
in the kinetic mode (Michaelis Menten dependence
on [ADP]) and in Mosaic Non Equilibrium Thermodynamic mode
(sigmoidal, quasi linear dependence of
output power on the phosphorylation potential. The latter dependence
is strikingly linear and strikingly predicted.
Those who prefer linear over hyperbolic relationships and like
Occams razor, and are nondogmatic, may be interested in the MNET
approach.
One issue is the recruitment of the muscle fibers.
Could one assume the number of active fibers to be constant
throughout contraction up to 65% of maximum?
If not, how would the fraction of active fibers vary with contraction
strength.
I would appreciate help.
