Ok, here we go.
ascii: nice easy format for lazy people who are just browsing the FAQ.
We'll accept ascii, but it has to be nicely laid out --- don't rely on
tabs but use spaces. Make sure there is no wrap-around to put
everything out of sync.
LaTeX: harder to read, but compact --- and useful to a lot of MCA/T
people. But it's probably best to make this an additional thing
rather than a replacement for ascii.
Schlosser:

I have to say I like this. I would be quite happy to see this sort of
thing *instead* of ascii. But I must point out that it is only really
the last one that is any simpler than the LaTeX and (a) who uses the
last one? and (b) it's only complicated because it needs controls in
to make sure the text '%change' doesn't come out italicized!
RTF and PostScript? No way! Could you make any sense out
of the stuff below? Sure we could keep it somewhere for downloading,
but I think only ascii, LaTeX and Schlosser format should be included
in the FAQ which is primarily a plain-text document. I don't think
there's any need for a new standard,.Schlosser-type stuff relies on
being readily interpretable.
