Hi, Could anybody tell me the enzyme that "activates" a fatty acid. That is, the enzyme that adds a SH-CoA group to a fatty acid so that it can undergo beta-oxidation etc. Does an enzyme do this or is it a result of an uncatalyzed thio-esterfication? Harvey
