If you've got the energy and the anger, you can always complain about the
spamming. Spamhater is a PC program that interfaces with many of the
common mail programs and extracts a suitable list of addresses to mail. Of
course, the overt address is usually forged, but you can find evidence of
the route and register a protest with the postmasters (postmaster at ....) or
complaints address (abuse at ....) of the systems concerned, who will be in a
better position to detect the true sender. With a bit of luck, some
service providers may be sensitive about getting bad reactions to the
activities of their subscribers. Details from:

http://www.compulink.co.uk/~net-services/spam/

Of course, when they boast about the software they've used (e.g. the
Inter-BBS) or provide links to Web pages (e.g.
http://www.freedomstarr.com/?TR7654321 and
http://www.freeyellow.com/members/concorde/index.html in the FREEMONEY
spam), you know you have a genuine domain address to address your complaint
to, since otherwise you wouldn't be able to load the pages. (However,
having looked at www.freedomstarr.com, it's unlikely to be sensitive;
postmaster at www.freeyellow.com and abuse at www.freeyellow.com may be better
bets.)
