i agree with mr. kuzmic; as scientists in training, we were encouraged by our
teachers (at least one of my profs did) to read papers with detachment and
objectivity so that we will develop critical reasoning rather than
quick-to-accept whatever the author proposes.
of course the flip side is to detach yourself from your own theories and ideas
so that challenges to your work will be appreciated as a scientific opinion for
insight rather than a damage to the ego.
