Where is everyone?

As I was among those who supported David's request for a clear statement on
total vs. partial derivatives in Jannie and Johann's document, it may be
useful to add that I think they have dealt with this (and the other points
that have been discussed) very well (see their various messages this month,
especially that of 13th May:
http://www.bio.net/hypermail/BTK-MCA/9805/0046.html), and I for one am
ready to support their recommendations.

More generally, where are all the other opinions that should have appeared
here? So far 20 people have downloaded (or tried to download) the Acrobat
file from
http://ir2lcb.cnrs-mrs.fr/~athel/mcanom7.pdf, others downloaded the
Postscript version, and others downloaded one or other from Jannie's
server. This comes to a lot more people than have made any comments. Does
no one else care?
