BSA vs. MCA

I've been trying to get myself a bit familiar with both methods of
analysis...

But I was wondering if someone could point me to a recent reference that
really discusses the pro's and con's of these two methods in an
*unbiased* and succinct manner to predict behaviour of biochemical
systems, and not just showing differences in the derived flux
co-efficients (I haven't had a chance to look at the application of MCA
to large flux changes) by either method.

Are these two methods truly derivative of each other? Or, in their
present form, do they just measure different things and their
application is truly a matter of the kind of information one is
interested in obtaining (e.g. state-to-state transitions vs. pathway
trajectories)? Would the Newsholme & Crabtree reference be a good
starting point?

I'm not sure if I've answered some of my own questions...but any other
information would be greatly appreciated!
