The question came up at the recent BTK meeting in Stellenbosch of how to
obtain thermodynamic data for enzyme-catalysed reactions, and I mentioned a
series of papers by Robert Goldberg and colleagues that contain data that
many subscribers to this news group would be likely to find useful if they
knew of their existence. There are five papers altogether, of which I don't
have complete references for the last two:
R. N. Goldberg, Y. B. Tewari, D. Bell, K. Fazio and E. Anderson (1993)
Thermodynamics of enzyme-catalyzed reactions: Part 1. Oxidoreductases. J.
Phys. Chem. Ref. Data 22, 515-582
R. N. Goldberg and Y. B. Tewari (1994) Thermodynamics of enzyme-catalyzed
reactions: Part 2. Transferases. J. Phys. Chem. Ref. Data 23, 547-617
R. N. Goldberg and Y. B. Tewari (1994) Thermodynamics of enzyme-catalyzed
reactions: Part 3. Transferases. J. Phys. Chem. Ref. Data 23, 1035-1103
R. N. Goldberg and Y. B. Tewari (around 1995) Thermodynamics of
enzyme-catalyzed reactions: Part 4. Lyases. J. Phys. Chem. Ref. Data
R. N. Goldberg and Y. B. Tewari (around 1995) Thermodynamics of
enzyme-catalyzed reactions: Part 5. Isomerases. J. Phys. Chem. Ref. Data
The abbreviation stands for Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data.
