Since none of the MCA experts seems to be reading / responding (this
newsgroup does go silent for months at end), I am going to ask: have you
tried some literature searches?
I just peeked into Medline (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/) and
typed "glucose AND fuel selection". This gave about 50 papers, for
example:
Schwarz JM, Neese RA, Turner S, Dare D, Hellerstein MK
J Clin Invest 1995 Dec;96(6):2735-43
Short-term alterations in carbohydrate energy intake in humans. Striking
effects on hepatic glucose production, de novo lipogenesis, lipolysis,
and whole-body fuel selection.
No mention of MCA, though. It does not help that in Medline, "MCA" is
an established abbreviation for "middle cerebral artery".
