Why is it quiet? I think it all depends - some people are working on
things they may not wish to talk about (just yet). Perhaps (like me) you
aren't actually in the immediate area and so can't really talk about MCA,
so it's an interest to keep you fresh in something you are a little
excited about as I don't follow the field - to show you how much I don't
follow it, what's a Metabolome?
I've never applied MCA to anything so I'm just interested. In many
respects the FAQ is very unsatisfactory as it points to applications for
MCA but these are not explored to any extent, so I'm waiting for other
areas to pop up.
Another reason, perhaps people are happy with their level of knowledge and
their skills/techniques in the area. This seems the case for bionet
specialist groups like molecular biology (HIV), which is a ghost town.
