G'day all;
Harking back to earlier discussions re: Journals etc. Nature has just
changed how it deals with us down under. I assume it is the same
everywhere else and I think it's a bit raw.
For us here our library has had free electronic access to the Nature
publications - however, Nature has now decided to charge libraries
for e-access effective as of 28th February 2001.
Nature has also decided that with the institutional access it will
only give immediate e-access to certain sections of each publication.
The "non-immediate' or delayed will be released 3 months after
publication.
Given the use of Nature the library has decided to purchase a one year
institutional site license to retain e-access. During this time the use of
Nature will be monitored to determine if we should continue with
electronic access in 2002 - given the reduced content that is available
immediately.
The following is a list of what will be available to us in each
publication:
Nature - Primary research material - eg the letters and articles
Nature Biotechnology - Research Articles
Nature Cell Biology - Articles, Brief Communication
Nature Genetics - Correspondence, Articles, Letters
Nature Immunology - Research Articles
Nature Medicine - Articles
Nature Neuroscience - Scientific Correspondence, Articles
Nature Structural Biology - Short Communications, Articles,
insight, Letters
Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology - all
Nature Reviews Neuroscience - all
Nature Reviews Genetics - all
With the institutional licence we will get one print copy of each title
so the Nature Reviews will be located in a general section as per most
libraries.
It just gets better doesn't it?
