SPAMmers almost =NEVER= read the newsgroups they SPAM using commercial bulk
e-mailers, so unless you CC:'d your flame directly to him (and preferably
also to his ISP), the SPAMmer almost certainly did =NOT= see it.
All you have succeeded in doing is compound the SPAMmer's waste of
bandwidth, by quoting his SPAM in its entirety --- making yourself
an accessory to his original crime of SPAMming.
