This is yet another example of why it is both immoral and impractical to
collaborate with regimes that do not respect individual rights.  For
another example, see Jim Mann's book *Beijing Jeep* for details on how
the Communist Chinese exploited a joint venture with AMC in the 1980s to
acquire the technology to build American Jeep Cherokees.
