sam donaldson, trash and c.elgans

a friend just called me and told me that sam donaldson was talking
about how our tax dollars are being wasted on research of a "stupid"
worm - not even an earthworm. apparently his barrage lasted several
minutes and was not related to defication in c. elegans.

did anybody hear this tirade? i am curious as to what was really said?
