Position:    Professional Research Assistant (full time)

We are currently using the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans to study
various aspects of aging and mortality (for more information visit
http://ibgwww.colorado.edu/~shale/index.html). The major
responsibil-ities of the applicant will include coordinating laboratory
personnel, maintaining worm stocks, data collection, microscopy, and
other miscellaneous laboratory duties.  The ideal applicant will have
degree in biology (developmental or molecular genetics preferred), a
background in classical genetics, a knowledge of statistics, familiarity
with a number of different computer formats and programs (Mac, IBM,
Excel, SPSS), and be willing to present data in a group setting.  A
background in C. elegans is preferred and a commitment of two years
minimum is required.  The position is open immediately and will be
filled by October 1st, 1997.  This position is classified as staff and
