A post-doctoral position is available to study germline development in C.
elegans. We are currently using a combination of genetic and molecular
techniques to study the role of several ego (enhancer of glp-1) and sog
(suppressor of glp-1) genes in the germ line. These genes are implicated
in the control of the mitotic/meiotic choice as well as other aspects of
germline development. The candidate will have the opportunity to use a
variety of genetic, molecular, and immunocytochemical methods. For more
information, please contact Eleanor Maine at "emmaine at mailbox.syr.edu",
315-443-9169, or Department of Biology, Syracuse University, 108 College
Place, Syracuse, NY 13244.
