transcription in elegans embryo

Hi.
I have a general question for you bionetters. When in its development the
little worms of yours does begin to transcribe its own genome. Is it at the
end of cleavage or before? How long can last c. elegans with the maternal
genes products? Please give me also a reference if possible.
