The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research was established in 1994
and obtained 10 billion SEK earmarked for research. The primary goal of
the Foundation is to improve the scientific and technological competence
in Sweden in areas of relevance for Sweden4s competitiveness. The
research should be of the highest international standing.
The Developmental Biology Programme of the Foundation seeks now to
2 SENIOR SCIENTISTS (group leaders)
in the area of non-mammalian Developmental Biology
All areas of research of non-mammalian Developmental Biology (e.g.
zebrafish, chick, Xenopus, Drosophila, C. elegans) will be considered.
Each candidate will be given 1.6 million SEK/year for five years. This
amount should enable him/her to form a group consisting for example of a
PostDoc, a PhD student, a technician and also provide running money for
Starting salary will be commensurate with experience. The candidate can
freely choose to work within the University in Sweden which best suits
the candidate's research interests. The candidate is also encouraged to
apply for grants from all Swedish Grant Foundations.
Candidates should have a PhD and/or MD degree, at least two years of
postdoctoral experience, and a proven record of high quality research.
