tech position open
grant at cuccfa.ccc.columbia.edu
Tue Mar 2 10:53:09 EST 1999
We are seeking a research technician to join us in
investigating endocytosis using the molecular genetics of C.
elegans. Using a sensitive assay, we have isolated a number
of mutants that are defective in endocytosis and have mapped
the mutations and placed them into complementation groups.
We are now focusing on the individual genes to identify the
functions of the proteins in endocytosis. We seek someone
with a degree in biology or chemistry and who has knowledge
of molecular biology and genetics. We prefer that the
candidate have experience performing genetic analysis with
C. elegans, doing PCR and recombinant DNA methods. The
individual will work closely with postdocs devoted to the
project. We seek individuals with a strong intellectual
curiosity and commitment to solving problems.
If you know of people interested in such a position please
have them write to me at the above address or respond by
e-mail to me at dih1 at columbia.edu. We are part of a
distinguished research faculty at Columbia and we are
located in NYC, which offers unlimited cultural
opportunities for intellectually inclined people.
