EXELIXIS, Inc.

Vision=8ALeadership=8ADiscovery!!

Exelixis, Inc. is a leader in the discovery of high-quality novel targets
for several major human diseases, and a leader in the discovery and
development of new drug therapies specifically for cancer and other
proliferative diseases. Our mission is to leverage our integrated discovery
platform to increase the speed and the quality of pharmaceutical and
agricultural product discovery and development.

Research Scientist/Senior Research Scientist, C. elegans Oncology group.
You will develop and implement C. elegans genetic screens to identify
molecular targets for the development of human cancer therapeutics. Joining
a team of scientists that collectively pursue a multidisciplinary approach
to target identification and validation in several model systems, you will
contribute experimentally to the C.elegans genetics efforts, and also
contribute intellectually toward the development of related research
projects. The ideal candidate will have broad scientific interests in
pathways related to cancer biology and signal transduction and will have
extensive working knowledge of C. elegans forward and reverse genetics
techniques, phenotypic analysis, and molecular biology. We seek an
individual committed to intellectual growth, teamwork, and maintaining an
interactive work environment. Requires PhD or equivalent with in-depth C.
elegans genetics and molecular biology experience required. Excellent
communication skills and a desire to work in a group atmosphere are also
necessary (Job#: CK01-113).

Assistant/Associate Research Scientist, C. elegans Oncology Group.
You will utilize C. elegans genetics to contribute toward identification of
molecular targets for the development of human cancer therapeutics. As an
integral part of a team of scientists carrying out forward and reverse
genetic screens, you will discover and investigate novel genes involved in
pathways related to cancer biology and cell signaling. The ideal candidate
will have broad interests in biology, as well as experience with a variety
of techniques, preferably in molecular biology, genetics, and microscopy.
This position will encourage intellectual growth and participation in an
interactive, team-oriented environment. Requires BS/BA, or MS, or
equivalent with molecular biology and/or genetics experience required.
Preference will be given to applicants with C. elegans experience. Good
communication skills and a desire to work in a group atmosphere are also
required (Job#: CK01-117).

Assistant/Associate/Research Scientist, Mechanism of Action Group.
You will carry out experiments in C. elegans and other model organism
systems to investigate pharmaceutical compound mechanism of action. The
ideal candidate will have broad biological interests and use a variety of
techniques, such as molecular biology, genetics, and microscopy. We
encourage intellectual growth and seek to maintain a lively and comfortable,
team-oriented working environment. Requires BS, MS or PhD or equivalent.
In-depth C. elegans experience strongly preferred, as is experience with
molecular biology and/or genetics. Extensive research experience is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a group atmosphere
are also required (Job#: CK01-162)
