Postoctoral Research Position in Cellular Microbiology

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position funded by the 
European Union in the group of Dr. Alain Filloux. Candidates should 
have a PhD in Molecular Microbiology or Cellular Biology, and with an 
interest in the molecular basis of pathogenicity in Pseudomonas 
aeruginosa and the use of Caenorhabditis elegans as host organism. 
This position will be offered for a period of three years.
The group of Dr. A. Filloux is part of a dynamic and 
multidisciplinary teaching and research community at the Institute of 
Structural Biology and Microbiology located in Marseilles, France. In 
the most recent years the research line has been focused on secretion 
of virulence factors by P. aeruginosa. More recent developments have 
focused on molecular mechanisms of bacterial adhesion and 
host/pathogen interactions (Vallet et al., 2001, Proc. Natl. Acad. 
Sci. USA, 98: 6911-6916).
The successful candidate will be expected to have general Molecular 
Biology and Microbiology expertise, preferentially with a solid 
background on the use and manipulation of the nematode C. elegans. 
Because of the funding source the candidate is expected to possess a 
European citizenship.
