LABORATORY TECHNICIAN POSITION TO STUDY MOLECULAR EVOLUTION AT
BOWDOIN COLLEGE IN COASTAL MAINE
A three-year, 35-hour per week, laboratory technician position is
available immediately for an NSF-sponsored project on molecular
evolution in nematodes. The technician will be responsible for the
day-to-day operations of the lab, including ordering supplies and
equipment, taking care of stocks, and preparing solutions. In
addition, the technician will participate in the experimental work,
data analysis, and figure preparation, and will have the opportunity
to contribute as an author on manuscripts. The technician must be a
clear communicator as the project involves collaboration with
undergraduate biology students on a regular basis. The position is
ideal for someone considering graduate school who wants paid
research experience before committing to a program.
Requirements include a bachelors degree in biology or related field
and strong organizational skills. Research experience and
