c. elegans liquid cultures

I was wondering if anybody has ever tried growing c. elegans in small 
liquid
cultures (approx. 6mL). Are there any other kinds of media that can be 
used
besides S. Basal? What is the recommended bacterial density? Has anyone 
ever
used anything besides OP50 in liquid?

Also, in the 6mL liquid cultures that I've grow, I've noticed large 
flaky
particles accumulating in solution with the worms. Has anybody had any 
kind of
experience with this in their experiments? Does anybody know what this 
it is?
