Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Genetics
School of Biological Sciences, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia
Applications are invited for a continuing lectureship in Genetics
(invertebrate model organisms) in the School of Biological Sciences.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate flair and productivity in
molecular, cellular and/or developmental genetics research, an
excellent track record and the potential to attract research grants and
graduate students. The successful applicant will be expected to be
able to teach genetics in all undergraduate years (including human
genetics) and broadly complement the research interests of the School.

Salary range: $57,936 - $68,801/$70,973- $81,836 pa Level B/Level C

Level B
(1) A PhD in a relevant field
(2) Excellent record of scholarly publications in refereed journals
(3) Potential ability to obtain external funding for research
(4) Postdoctoral research experience in the molecular, cellular
and/or developmental genetics of invertebrates as model organisms
(5) Potential and willingness to supervise honours and postgraduate
students
(6) Potential and willingness to lecture to undergraduate classes
(7) Excellent communications skills
(8) High degree of motivation and creativity as a teacher
(9) Willingness to collaborate in teaching and research activities
(10) Willingness and ability to take a share of School administrative
responsibilities
Level C
(11) A PhD in a relevant field
(12) International standing in research in the field of molecular,
cellular and/or developmental genetics of invertebrates as model
organisms
(13) Excellent record of scholarly publications in refereed journals
(14) Significant postdoctoral research experience or equivalent
(15) Proven track record of success in obtaining external funding
for research
(16) Demonstrated ability to supervise honours and postgraduate
students
(17) Demonstrated ability to lecture to undergraduate classes
(18) Excellent communications skills
(19) High degree of motivation and creativity as a teacher
(20) Demonstrated willingness to collaborate in teaching and
research activities
(21) Demonstrated willingness and ability to take a share of School
administrative responsibilities.
