Research technician position, C. elegans lab, Cincinnati Children's
Hospital Research Foundation

A research technician position is available in a new laboratory in
the Division of Developmental Biology at Cincinnati Children's
Hospital Research Foundation beginning in December. We are
interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms by which
functional neural circuits are assembled, using the small roundworm
Caenorhabditis elegans as an experimental organism. The lab uses a
multidisciplinary approach that integrates genetics, molecular
biology, cell biology, electrophysiology, and imaging to address this
question. Please visit
http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/research/div/dev-biology/fac-labs/chuang/
to learn more about the lab.

The primary responsibility is to help the PI set up and organize a
new research lab. Other duties include maintaining frozen worm
strain collection, overseeing equipment procurement and maintenance,
ordering and stocking of lab supplies, assisting budget control, and
managing lab safety programs. Requires a BS in life science with
practical laboratory experience in molecular biology or genetics.
Experience with C. elegans is preferred but is not essential. The
lab is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual, who is
capable of multi-tasking. The successful applicant will work in a
very stimulating academic and cultural environment, and will have the
opportunity to assist with experiments and contribute as an author on
publications. This is a three-year position that may be extended if
additional grant funds are secured. Part-time position will also be
considered. Interested persons should send a resume and names of
three references to Dr. Chiou-Fen Chuang at
chioufen.chuang at alumni.caltech.edu.
