Pancreatitis Info sought

I know this is a little off base, but maybe one of you MD researchers
out there will have pity on me. I have a very sick puppy with acute
pancreatitis. Vet treats me like a non literate... I'm desperate for
any and all info I can get. Causes ? (no she's not an alcoholic or fat
or etc) Prevention? Relapses? Thanks.
