The Program of Architectural Dynamics in Living Cells at the MBL has an
immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Applicants are
expected to have a strong background in cell biology with appropriate
background and interest to participate in the development of innovative
light microscopy applicable to non-destructive studies of living cells.
Current projects at the program investigate the structural basis and
control of mitosis, cell division and morphogenesis, with emphasis on
biophysical studies made directly on single living cells. Development of
biophysical instrumentation and methodology, such as high-resolution
polarization optical, 4-dimensional, proximity scanning and video
microscopy and digital image processing techniques, and their underlying
theory are an integral part of the program's effort.
