Looking for Info on human fertilization

I'm wondering if anyone can point me to a source detailing the
chemistry of human gametic interactions. Specifically, I'm looking for
information on what exactly tells the egg that it has been fertilized. Is
this related to the enzymes found in the acrosome, or something else?
Pardon my ignorance on this subject--- I'm just an undergrad in search
of assistance.
   Thanks,
   Adam Robusto
