labelling oxidised-LDL

I'm a chemist, but need to do some cell culture experiments - measuring
uptake of oxidised-LDL by human macrophage cultures.

Most people seem to label LDL with 125I, then oxidise, then feed. I would
rather do it using a fluorescence method: e.g. prepare DiI-LDL, then
oxidise; or ox-LDL then label. BUT I can't find any references to people
preparing fluorescently-labelled oxidised LDL. Has it been done before, &
if not why not?
