SY38 recognizes synaptophysin, not synaptotagmin. If you just want a synaptic vesicle marker, this is fine, however Sigma sells an anti-synaptophysin ascites for a tiny fraction of the obscene price charged by BMB. If there are commercial sources for anti-synaptotagmin, I haven't heard.
