On April 18, 1995, BIOSIS is offering a Basic course on BIOSIS Previews. This training
program provides an introduction to BIOSIS and BIOSIS Previews. The coverage and use of
BIOSIS Previews is discussed in detail, as well as the use of the BIOSIS Search Guide,
searchable data elements, search strategy development, BIOSIS indexing conventions and
interpreting search results. The workshop prepares you for future online and CD searching. It
is a must for the beginning BIOSIS Previews searcher.
An Advanced training program will follow on April 19, 1995. This seminar explores BIOSIS
Previews' controlled vocabulary, chemical and organism searching and Concept Code and
Biosystematic Code applications. An workshop allows you to practice search strategies at
your own pace.
The BioBusiness training program on April 20, 1995, focuses on the content and scope of the
BioBusiness database, the use of Concept Codes and controlled vocabulary, and fundamentals
of searching. Of particular interest to those involved in research and all areas of business, this
course emphasizes concise and efficient search strategy design. The economic implications
and industrial applications of life science research are highlighted in the workshop.
