I'm not sure if this will help you but I use a 20 mM NH4OH (in
H20) solution to lyse and solubilize the cell monolayer of bovine
corneal endothelial cells (as part of the denudation process leaving behind
the ECM laid by these cells). Perhaps you could adapt this method to
your protocol.
