Not a review but a good collection of papers that show the subject 
rapidly evolving, and one I use in my masters level lectures comes from 
Nature.  "Making class II presentable", Schmidt & Jackson (1994) Nature 
369 p 103-4 and references therein.  Hope this helps, Ian
