Ammonia-loading cells

I've read that loading cells with ammonia (10mM) can affect the
amount of secretion from cells, and I'd like to try it in my system.  The
only thing is, it's usually done in media near pH 7.3 (=1% NH3/99%NH4+?)
and my cells are used to media with pH near 6.3 (=0.1% NH3/99.9% NH4+?).
Will this still work at that low pH, with only 1/1000 (instead of 1/100) of
the ammonia in the uncharged form?
