Research Scientist in the field of Cardiac in vitro Electrophysiology
The department of Cardiovascular Pharmacology at Astra Hässle is
offering a good opportunity for an independent researcher in the field
of cardiac electrophysiology. In the cardiovascular field we are
presently running projects aimed at developing drugs in the area
of arrhythmias, thrombosis, atherosclerosis and hypertension.
In a multi-disciplinary team, the applicant will be responsible for
identification and characterization of compounds modulating different
kinds of myocardial ion channels, with the purpose of developing an
effective and safe drug for treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
The applicant should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent, and a
demonstrated postdoctoral record of independent research in the area
of in vitro cardiac electrophysiology, with experience in techniques
such as voltage clamp and recording of transmembrane action potentials.
Experience in molecular biology techniques would be an asset.
The candidate should have good communication skills, experience of
multi-disciplinary teamwork and power of initiative.
