I am not a reseracher or doctor, but the journal Science had a report on calcium dependence of nuclear RNA production. High calcium allows cell portals to open, allowing transfer betwen cytoplasm and nucleus. Does that help? A portal which opens temporarily essential brings the two areas in contact which is physically the same thing.
