LOOKING URGENTLY FOR A POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
who will work on structural and functional aspects of P-Glycoprotein
(Pgp), a protein that is involved in the Multidrug Resistance
phenotype (MDR) of cancer cells.
The Postdoc fellow will have to culture resistant cells from which he
(she) will solubilize Pgp into detergents, purify and reconstitute it
into liposomes (these technologies are fully mastered in the lab).
He will have to vary the lipid composition of liposomes in order to
improve the ATPase activity of Pgp and study the functional aspects of
the protein (regulation of both Pgp ATPase and drug transport
activities and induced conformational changes) by using such in vitro
approaches as fluorescence on purified and/or reconstituted Pgp, or
directly on the whole cell by flow cytometry.
In order to look for an eventual financing, it is imperative that the
fellow urgently contacts the following person (fax, e-mail or letter)
for the files to be constituted by December 10, 1996.
