L-929 TNF Bioassay CITATION?

Dear colleagues,

we measure TNF-alpha expression, after retroviral transfection
of breast cancer cells. Cytotoxity assay for TNF is performed by 
actinomycin-D inhibited L-929 Cells and crystal violet staining after 24 h.
The protocol was handled from doc to doc in our lab and unfortunately
the correct citation has been lost on the protocol copies. I only know that it 
was published by  N.Matthews and M.L.Neale. 

Who knows the correct citation for the L-929 assay.
