LDA help needed

Help!

I am just now learning about LDA and subsequent CTL assays.  I can't
understand the point behind the LDA.  I know it's to determine the
precursor frequency of responding cells.  But it would seem to me that as
the concentration of responders increases while the stimulator
concentration remains the same, it's obvious that with each dilution, the
freq. of responders decreases b/c there are less than the previous
suspension.

Can someone clear me up on this?
