help needed on THP-1 transfection

Hi everybody,
I need to transfect THP-1 monocytes with plasmid DNA. I tried
electroporation with our BTX ECM 600 using parameters described by
BTX.
I ve got a huge mass of dead cells (to many for transient analysis)
and no stable transfectants (out of 40 mio cells) after G418
selection...

Does anybody have experience with THP.-1 transfection. Any help would
be helpfull (-:
