                   NSF POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE

Postdoctoral research position: with funding from the National Science
Foundation, we are seeking a Ph.D. level individual who will study the
biochemical and molecular basis of cytoplasmic incompatibility (CI) in
Drosophila, and the possible role heat shock proteins (hsps) 70 and 90
play in the the expression of CI.  Experiments are designed to examine
sperm protein profiles from males infected with the microbe that causes
CI, Wolbachia, using one- and two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and
immunoblotting using anti-hsp70/90 antibodies.  Start date is flexible
but would be expected to begin sometime around December 1, 1998.
