How to target a protein to cell membrane? (Help!)

Does anyone know a vector for targeting a secretory protein to cell
membrane?  I need to attach my protein to the membrane by its N-terminus.
I have already tried mutating the site recognised by signal peptidase,
however this resulted in binding of the protein only to ER (it does not
proceed to the SURFACE of the cell).  Maybe someone can help me.
