excision repair

hi,

apparently the role of dna stability in
canerogenesis has been revealed. i looking for a
explanation, why the nucleotide excision repair
system has not been identifyed as a tumor
supressor in humans. xeroderma pigmentosa shows a
strong connection between repair deficiency and
tumor cells. i would apreciate, if somebody has a
hint.
