I'm making a general posting to find out if anyone uses the Malachite Green
assay of Lanzetta for ATPase assays. The protocol specifies something called
Sterox that we got from Perkin-Elmer when I was in G. Witman's lab. Perkin-
Elmer no longer makes it. so,
1. Does anyone know who does?
2. Does anyone know what this stuff, Sterox, is? Can it be made or
substituted for in the lab?
3. Failing 1 and 2, does anyone have a big or small supply that they want
to get rid of and would be glad to throw my way?
4. or, and this is probably better than 3, does anyone know of a Malachite
assay that doesn't need Sterox.
