Light Compensation Point

Light curves:
We have measured many light curves for Chlamy over the years. The
compensation point for light is very dependent on growth conditions - cells
photoacclimate to low or high irradiance. The compensation point for growth
is on the order of 1 umol quanta per sq. m per s - for cool white fluorescent
light. This compensation point will be spectrally dependent. If you are
interested in more information on the plasticity of P-I curve responses
you can see a mini review in J. Phycol: 27, 8-14 (1991).
