Cliff Zeyl and Graham Bell have announced their new "wild" Chlamydomonas
isolates from the Montreal area. I'd like to add that we have an
additional mt+ and mt- pair isolated from garden soil in North Carolina.
Chloroplast DNA analysis suggests that they are distinct from the 137C lab
strain, and probably resemble most closely one of the Pennsylvania isolates
from Jon Spanier and Jon Jarvik. I'll post a list of all the new CC-
numbers as soon as we receive the Montreal strains for the Chlamydomonas
Genetics Center collection.
