We have 3 mail servers here at NCBI:
retrieve at ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
to retrieve sequence from many of the databases
blast at ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
to do homology searches againts many of the databases
est_report at ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
to get full length reports from dbEST, the expressed
sequences database
To each of these you can send the word "help" in the body
of the message (leaving tthe subject line empty) and you
will recieve a help document for each of these servers.
If you have any problems, you could send an email message to:
info at ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
and somebody from our service desk will be more than happy
to help you.
Failling that, you can try me again ;-)
regards,
francis
