	These are merely the opinions of a genetic dabbler, but from my 
perspective the use of NIT1 for a wild-type allele is more useful than for a 
dominant allele.  There may be multiple wild-type alleles, but they could be 
distinguished like any other alleles (NIT1-475 or NIT1-21gr).  Dominance, on 
the other hand, is not only rarely tested for in Chlamy but is also a 
relationship between two alleles and not a permanent attribute of any given 
allele.
